# Enter a round

Buying tickets step by step, what every number in the purchase window means, and what happens next.

## Step by step

1. Open [ovro.fun](https://ovro.fun) and press **Connect**.
2. Press **Enter raffle**.
3. Choose the number of tickets with **−** and **+**.
4. Check the numbers (explained below) and press **Confirm**.
5. Your wallet shows a transaction to the raffle contract for exactly *tickets × price* ETH. Approve it.
6. The window follows the transaction: *Confirm in wallet → Submitting → Confirming on-chain → Confirmed*, with a link to the explorer.

Your tickets now appear under **Your tickets** on the main page.

## The purchase window

| Line                   | Meaning                                                                                                                                                          |
| ---------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Ticket price** | ETH per ticket for this round. Fixed for the whole round. |
| **Tickets** | How many you are buying now. The maximum is limited by the tickets left and your wallet limit. |
| **Eligibility** | *Open · Genesis* during Genesis. After the $OVRO activation it shows your $OVRO balance and the minimum required. |
| **Wallet limit** | Tickets you already hold in this round / the most one wallet can hold. |
| **Chance now** | Your share if the round were drawn with the tickets sold so far, including this purchase. Early in a round this is close to 100%, because few tickets exist yet. |
| **Chance at sell-out** | Your share if all tickets of the round are sold. This is the number that grows with every ticket you add. |
| **Total** | ETH that leaves your wallet, before gas. |

## Messages you may see

| Message                            | What to do                                                                     |
| ---------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Wrong network** | Press *Switch network* and approve it in your wallet. |
| **Insufficient ETH** | Your balance on Robinhood Chain does not cover the total plus gas. |
| **Insufficient OVRO** | After Genesis only: buy $OVRO on Pons, then come back. |
| **Wallet limit reached** | This wallet already holds the maximum tickets for the round. |
| **Round full** or **round closed** | Wait for the next round; it opens automatically after the draw. |
| **Sales paused** | The guardian paused ticket sales. Draws, refunds and withdrawals keep working. |
| **Wallet rejected** | You declined the transaction. Nothing was sent. |

## After you buy

* **The timer** starts with the first ticket of the round and runs for 24 hours (current rules).
* **Sold out:** the draw starts in the same transaction as the last ticket.
* **Timer ended:** anyone can press *Close round*. With at least 2 players the draw starts; with fewer, the round is cancelled and every ticket is refundable.
* **The draw** waits about one minute for the committed randomness beacon, then the winner is selected and paid in the same transaction. The automation normally does this within seconds; anyone can also press *Reveal winner*.

See [Refunds & prizes](/ovro-docs/getting-started/claims.md) for cancelled rounds and prizes that could not be sent automatically.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://ovro.gitbook.io/ovro-docs/getting-started/enter-a-round.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
