# Introduction

One pool. One winner. Fully onchain.

## Introduction

**OVRO** is an on-chain raffle protocol on **Robinhood Chain**.

Every round is a single pool of ETH tickets. When the round closes, one winner is selected by **verifiable randomness** and paid automatically by the smart contract. Part of every pool funds the treasury, and part **buys $OVRO on the open market and burns it**.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Status: Genesis.** Raffle rounds are live on Robinhood Chain mainnet and open to every wallet. $OVRO launches on Pons V2; from then on, holding $OVRO is required to enter. The buyback share collected during Genesis is held by the contract and is spent buying $OVRO once it launches.
{% endhint %}

### Why OVRO

|                           |                                                                                                                                                     |
| ------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Fully on-chain** | Tickets, escrow, winner selection and payouts are enforced by contracts. No server picks winners, and no admin touches the pool. |
| **Verifiable randomness** | Winners come from the drand League of Entropy beacon, whose BLS signature is verified inside the contract. Anyone can check the draw. |
| **Real buyback** | Protocol revenue is ETH, and the buyback spends that ETH on $OVRO through Pons, then burns it. Tokens are never redistributed and called a buyback. |
| **Transparent** | Every contract is verified on the Robinhood Chain explorer, and every round, draw, payout, buyback and burn is an on-chain event. |

### A round at a glance

|                    | Current rules                   |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------- |
| Ticket price       | 0.001 ETH                       |
| Tickets per round  | 100                             |
| Timer | 24 hours from the first ticket |
| Tickets per wallet | 10                              |
| Winner receives    | 90% of the pool                 |
| Treasury / buyback | 5% / 5%                         |
| Draw               | drand beacon, verified on-chain |

The live values are always read from the contract on [ovro.fun](https://ovro.fun) → **● ONCHAIN**.

### How to take part

1. Set up a wallet on Robinhood Chain with some ETH. See [Wallet setup](/ovro-docs/getting-started/wallet-setup.md).
2. Open [ovro.fun](https://ovro.fun), connect, and press **Enter raffle**. During Genesis any wallet can enter.
3. Buy tickets in ETH. Your chance is your share of the tickets. See [Enter a round](/ovro-docs/getting-started/enter-a-round.md).
4. When the round sells out, or its timer ends, the draw starts. The winner is paid in the same transaction that reveals the result.

### Check it yourself

* Every contract is verified on the explorer: [Contracts](/ovro-docs/security/contracts.md).
* Every winner can be recomputed from public data: [Verify a draw](/ovro-docs/protocol/verify-a-draw.md).
* Every admin change waits 48 hours in public: [Multisig & timelock](/ovro-docs/governance/multisig-and-timelock.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://ovro.gitbook.io/ovro-docs/readme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
